Application and Function
The Schluter-RENO-U metal transition is designed to provide a smooth transition between a tile and a pre-existing floor that is at a lower elevation.
The metal transition profile is available in a multitude of finishes; Stainless Steel, Brushed Stainless Steel, Solid Brass, Satin Anodized Aluminum, Bright Chrome Anodized Aluminum, Satin Nickel Anodized Aluminum, Brushed Nickel Anodized Aluminum, Satin Copper/Bronze Anodized Aluminum, Brushed Copper/ Bronze Anodized Aluminum, Brushed Antique Bronze Anodized Aluminum, Satin Brass Anodized Aluminum, Bright Brass Anodized Aluminum, Tuscan Bronze Color Coated Aluminum.
The Schluter-Reno-U features a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg which is meant to be secured in the mortar beneath the tile. The sloped surface which is at an approximate 25 º angle is meant to eliminate trip hazards and protect the edges of the tile.
The Schluter-Reno-U in the solid brass, Anodized Aluminum, and Tuscan Color-Coated Aluminum features and integrated joint spaced that is meant to establish a defined joint cavity between the tile and the profile. The Schluter-Reno-U in the Stainless Steel is a roll-formed and does not feature an integrated joint spacer.
The Schluter-Reno-U is complaint with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in all sizes except for the ¾” (20mm) and the 11/16” (17.5mm).
